Aruba Airport

In 2022 Aruba Airport Authorities had an immediate need to become in control of their human resource planning and they reached out to Smart Solutions by Viggo for help.

Viggo started with some quick scans on site using the infamous OneWeekChallenge approach to map the entire airport processes,  measure the digital readiness and understand the strategic playing field and culture. This resulted in a clear advice on what AAA needed to change themselves, what small software packages were missing, and for what they needed some temporary expertise. 
Smart Solutions guided the tender process to find a Scheduling and Time and Attendance system, and subsequently implemented this with a hybrid team. Digitalization means companies need to make choices, in order for their internal policies and processes to be translated into software interfaces and configuration. SS helped to translate the ideas and wishes into clear functional requirements, and maintained scope and quality during the implementation.

Due to the training of staff in smart resource management, AAA is now independent in their daily tasks. The entire planning process is digitized and the payment process is on time, and flawless. Employees can digitally swap shifts without interference of a planner, and are guaranteed to work within Labour Law, CLA and their preferred roster cycle, making them enthusiastic supporters of this way of working.

The efficiency of resource planning has improved with almost 12% and due to a reduction in overtime, the actual staff savings are almost 17%. Meaning the payback on investment was less than a year.
