Vienna Airport

Vienna Airport Handling is the main ground handler at Vienna Airport and offers a broad variety of passenger, ramp and cargo services. All of these services are coordinated from an Operations Control Centre. The management of VAH wanted to have a clear benchmark on their operational and indirect performance bij means of a GAP analysis between current and optimal. Subsequently followed by a clear advice on what and how needed to change in order to harvest the potential.

Smart Solutions mapped the entire dataflow in the Control Centre together with all operational tools, lists, interfaces, email and verbal communication. It was made clear that more than 50% of the data shared, was irrelevant, duplicate, false or too late where essential timestamps to improve operations were missing. Smart Solutions designed a new dataflow method, and explained the Vienna IT department what and how to build this. 
VAH has it’s own Real-Time-Resource allocation system in place. A very powerful tool, yet the configuration was highly suboptimal. Smart Solutions helped to adjust the config in a more efficient way, and trained a Product Owner how to futurely do this independently. When needed, Smart Solutions is incidentally flown in, to tackle the more complex problems, or chair a workshop to align strategy, with operations and IT.
